Classes

Happy Hands Club recognises that from birth, children are learning; a child’s experience stimulates the brain to develop thousands of connections even in the first years of life. It is paramount therefore, that we make these learning experiences as enriching as possible in order to support development in those early years. At Happy Hands Club we appreciate and value the different stages of development and have designed our classes specifically for those stages. We also appreciate that all children develop at different rates and aim towards stage not age.

Our interactive, fun-filled sessions offer a structured programme, combining songs, drama, music and movement activities. The use of innovative props helps to stimulate the imagination and develop specific language, social and movement qualities. We also use a variety of music and musical instruments to develop rhythm and musicality. We value the importance of tradition and embrace the modern. We combine the two so the little ones get the best of both worlds.

The classes also give parent/carer and their little one precious quality time together along with an opportunity to meet others in a safe, friendly, relaxed and fun environment. Our ultimate aim is to bring people together to nurture key skills in a fun, magical and inspiring space.

Happy Hands and Tiny Toes

‘Cots to Tots’

‘Calming yet stimulating sessions for birth to sitting’

A typical class runs for approximately 45 minutes. Class sizes are limited to ensure that the Class Leader can establish a relationship with all class members. Age ranges for our classes are only a guide, as all children develop at different rates. Your Class Leader will advise you of the most appropriate class for your child or children

In a typical session we sing nursery rhymes, counting rhymes and action songs, using a range of sensory props. Our children are encouraged to explore sound using a variety of musical instruments, whilst our “quiet time” enhances listening skills, concentration and self-awareness.

Repetition is essential to young children’s learning, self-confidence and enjoyment. Therefore, we keep the class structures consistent but change themes regularly, to maintain enthusiasm and stimulate the imagination. We aim to create an informal and friendly atmosphere where the focus is on ‘fun’ for both infants and adults.

Our Happy Hands and Twinkly Toes sessions are designed for babies and toddlers who are ready to move around. The activities are exciting, interactive and require the children to take turns. Counting rhymes and action songs enhance the development of speech and number concepts and we give them opportunities to explore sound using a wider variety of musical instruments. Listening skills are enhanced in our calming listening time before the session concludes with exciting parachute activities and bubbles.

Our Happy Hands and Funky Feet sessions are designed to be more active, concentrating on developing fine and gross motor skills and spatial awareness. The basic stepping patterns of hopping, skipping and jumping are introduced and the children learn about rhythm in more structured musical activities using a wide range of instruments. We continue to use exciting props and introduce new songs, some of which require the children to respond imaginatively through movement and music. We introduce a variety of musical genres from classical to jazz in our listening time, during which we introduce mindfulness activities. Sessions conclude with exciting parachute games and bubbles.
